Dave -- what you have is gumming/varnish on the vacuum slide. It can be prevented by a teaspoon full of gumout at each fill up. If you don't have acces to anything but aerosol spray gumout use 5 seconds into the tank from the red spray tube (the equivalent of a teaspoonfull). Works for me!
